We understand that arranging a funeral can feel overwhelming. Our aim is to explain our charges clearly, helping you understand what is included, which costs are paid to third parties and which additional services are entirely optional.

An attended funeral is where family and friends have a ceremony, event or service for the deceased person at the same time as they attend the burial or cremation.

Other Costs to Consider

Third-Party Fees

Some costs are charged by cemeteries, crematoria and other third parties rather than by A D Walker Funeral Directors. We will explain these clearly when discussing the arrangements with you.

Burial Fee

Typical local resident burial cost: £1,533.

Cremation Fee
£795–£1,300

Typical local cremation cost: £1,300.

For a new grave, you may also need to pay for the plot. For an existing grave with a memorial in place, additional costs may apply for removal and replacement. Cemeteries may also charge a number of other fees.

What is included in the attended funeral price?

The funeral director's charges cover the arrangements, bringing the deceased person into our care, care before the funeral, a suitable wood veneer coffin, viewing by appointment and transport to the agreed cemetery or crematorium, subject to the distances stated above.

Are burial and cremation fees included?

Third-party burial and cremation charges are shown separately unless specifically stated as included within a funeral option.

Can I choose additional services?

Yes. Additional services can be arranged according to your family's requirements, and we will explain any additional charges before arrangements are confirmed.

Can you accommodate religious or cultural requirements?

Yes. We welcome discussions about religious, cultural and belief-based requirements and will work with you to make appropriate arrangements.

When is payment required?

A D Walker Funeral Directors Ltd requires full payment within 30 days of the invoice date.
